KATHMANDU: Nabil Bank Limited has launched the Nabil Bank Education Hub at Putalisadak, Kathmandu, establishing a dedicated center that offers education financing, financial advisory and specialized banking services for students planning to pursue higher education overseas.
The Education Hub was jointly inaugurated on Monday by H.E Simon Ernst, Ambassador of Australia to Nepal, Nirvana Kumar Chaudhary, Chairman of Nabil Bank, and Manoj Kumar Gyawali, Chief Executive Officer of Nabil Bank. Members of the bank's Board of Directors and senior management were also present at the inauguration ceremony.
The Education Hub has been established to serve students aspiring to study abroad, their parents, educational consultancies and other stakeholders in the education sector. The specialized center provides integrated banking solutions, financial guidance and advisory services designed to support students throughout their overseas education journey.
Speaking at the inauguration, Nirvana Kumar Chaudhary, Chairman of Nabil Bank, said the Education Hub reflects the Bank's commitment to investing in education as a catalyst for national development and empowering future generations. He said,"Investment in education is not only an investment in an individual but also in families, communities and the nation's future. Through the Education Hub, we aim to strengthen Nepal's education ecosystem by providing students with the financial access, guidance and banking support they need to pursue their academic aspirations with confidence." He further added,"As we move forward, we plan to expand this initiative by establishing dedicated Education Hub counters across our branch network, making these specialized services more accessible to students and parents throughout the country."
Congratulating Nabil Bank on the initiative, Ambassador Simon Ernst said the establishment of the Education Hub reflects the shared commitment of Australia and Nepal to investing in people through education. He said, "Reliable and transparent systems foster trust across the education ecosystem, benefiting students, families, educational institutions and financial service providers alike. Nabil Bank's commitment to establishing a one-stop support centre for students and parents is both practical and timely." Additionally he said, "We also appreciate the Bank's efforts to strengthen its selection and verification processes, which contribute to building greater confidence across the international education landscape."
Nabil Bank views education as a long-term investment in human capital, national development and the country's future. Through its nationwide branch network, the Bank has already supported thousands of students with education loans and banking services. Recognizing that students and parents require more than financial assistance alone, the Bank has established the Education Hub to provide specialized advisory services alongside comprehensive banking solutions.
Ananta Paudyal, Director of Nabil Bank, said the Education Hub has been developed to respond to the evolving needs of students and parents seeking international education. "The Education Hub goes beyond education financing. It provides specialized banking services, financial advisory and dedicated facilitation throughout the entire overseas education journey. This initiative represents another significant step in Nabil Bank's commitment to delivering customer-centric innovation and meaningful financial solutions that create long-term value," he said.
Unlike conventional banking outlets, the Education Hub is designed to establish Nabil Bank as a trusted financial and knowledge partner for Nepal's education sector. Staffed by a dedicated team of education banking specialists, the Hub offers personalized guidance, faster service delivery and expert support tailored to the unique needs of students pursuing international education.
One of the key features of Nabil Bank's education loan is its moratorium facility, which allows students to defer regular loan repayments during their study period. This enables them to focus on academics, research, skills development and career preparation without the immediate burden of loan instalments.
Speaking on the occasion, CEO Manoj Kumar Gyawali described the initiative as a pioneering step in Nepal's banking industry. "This is the first initiative of its kind in Nepal's banking sector. As the demand for international education continues to grow, students' needs extend far beyond financial assistance alone, he said. Stating that the Education Hub will provide education financing, foreign exchange services, financial planning and specialized banking guidance in one integrated platform, he said, "The Hub will serve as a true one-stop solution for students and parents, providing seamless banking support from the initial planning stage and admission process to education financing, foreign exchange services, study completion and post-graduation loan repayment."
Nabil Bank emphasized that the Education Hub complements, rather than replaces, its nationwide branch network. As a specialized centre, it is designed to strengthen the Bank's existing service delivery by providing expert advisory services, faster decision-making and an enhanced banking experience for customers seeking education-related financial services.
Nabil Bank is one of Nepal's leading private sector commercial banks. Serving more than 2.6 million customers through a nationwide network of 264 branches and 315 ATMs, the bank has been delivering trusted banking services for over four decades. Building on its strong legacy, Nabil Bank has embraced its 'Banking and Beyond' philosophy, reaffirming its commitment to creating a more inclusive and prosperous future for its customers, communities, and the economy.
