About Nabil SSE

Nabil School of Social Entrepreneurship (Nabil SSE) is a Flagship Corporate Social Responsibility initiative of Nabil Bank Limited that supports entrepreneurship through practical learning, mentoring, institutional collaboration and entrepreneurship-ecosystem connections. The initiative aims to strengthen entrepreneurs and sustainable enterprises that create economic, social and/or environmental value.

Nabil SSE is not limited to one industry or legal form. It welcomes eligible ideas and enterprises from diverse sectors, including agriculture and food, technology, education, healthcare, manufacturing, tourism and hospitality, creative industries, retail, professional services and other areas, unless a specific application call states otherwise.

Two complementary programmes

Nabil SSE offers two pathways for applicants at different stages of their entrepreneurial journey. Applicants should review the differences and apply for the programme that best matches their current experience, enterprise stage, learning needs and ability to participate.

Nabil SSE Fellowship Program

The Nabil SSE Fellowship Program is an intensive entrepreneurship-development programme implemented by Nabil Bank Limited in collaboration with the School of Management, Tribhuvan University. It supports selected entrepreneurs to establish, test, strengthen or expand sustainable enterprises that respond to meaningful social, economic and/or environmental problems or opportunities.

What the Fellowship includes

• Practical entrepreneurial learning and enterprise-development tools.
• Residential learning blocks and application-based assignments.
• Mentoring and interaction with experienced entrepreneurs, professionals and practitioners.
• Peer learning and entrepreneurial networks.
• Field exposure and entrepreneurship-ecosystem connections.
• Business-model refinement, financial readiness, enterprise communication and pitching.

Who should apply

• Nepali citizens aged 18 years or above.
• Applicants who have identified a meaningful problem or opportunity and have an idea, initiative, early-stage venture or existing enterprise with the potential to address it.
• Applicants committed to researching, testing, refining, strengthening or expanding their idea or enterprise.
• Applicants ready to learn, receive feedback, adapt and work towards practical entrepreneurial milestones.
• Applicants able to participate actively in an intensive five-to-six-month learning journey.

A fully established or registered company is not mandatory unless the current cohort notice states otherwise. Applicants should accurately describe their current stage and demonstrate commitment, action and the potential to develop a sustainable entrepreneurial solution.

Participation requirements

• Approximately three to four programme days per month for five to six months.
• At least 90 percent attendance.
• Full participation in residential learning blocks and programme activities.
• Completion of practical assignments and agreed activities between sessions.
• Participants bear their travel expenses; boarding and lodging are provided for scheduled residential programme activities, subject to official cohort arrangements.

Programme duration and mentoring

The Fellowship is a six-month programme comprising approximately 18 residential learning days, generally organised in monthly learning blocks. Each Fellow is paired with a mentor who serves as a sounding board during the entrepreneurial journey. Mentoring and relevant alumni engagement may continue for up to one year in accordance with the programme plan for the cohort.

Selection process

Applications are reviewed against the published eligibility and assessment criteria. Shortlisted applicants are invited to an interview or may be asked for additional information. Selection considers the relevance of the problem or opportunity; potential and practicality of the idea or enterprise; action already taken relative to the applicant's stage; initiative and learning readiness; capacity to participate; sustainability and growth potential; and potential economic, social and/or environmental value. Submission does not guarantee shortlisting or selection.

Expected learning and enterprise-development outcomes

Through the Fellowship, participants are expected to strengthen their entrepreneurial judgement, test and refine their solutions and business models, improve their financial and market readiness, and develop their ability to present a credible business plan or enterprise proposition to relevant stakeholders, including financial institutions and investors. The programme does not guarantee enterprise establishment, investment readiness, financing or business success within a fixed period. Outcomes depend on the entrepreneur, enterprise, market conditions and execution.

Nabil SSE Certificate Course

The Nabil SSE Certificate Course is a wider-access entrepreneurship education pathway delivered through participating academic institutions. It provides practical knowledge, entrepreneurial competencies and exposure that can help participants explore opportunities, develop ideas, establish enterprises or strengthen early business activity.

Who should apply

• Nepali citizens aged 18 years or above who can participate at the selected implementing location.
• Aspiring entrepreneurs, students, early-stage founders and other individuals seeking practical entrepreneurial knowledge.
• Applicants exploring a problem or opportunity, developing an idea, or working to strengthen an early-stage initiative or enterprise.
• Applicants willing to participate actively in practical exercises, assignments, practitioner interaction, exposure and business planning.

Applicants do not need to be students of the implementing institution unless a partner-specific notice states otherwise. A fully developed business idea is not necessarily required; applicants should honestly describe the issue, opportunity, area of interest, idea, initiative or enterprise they are exploring.

What the course offers

• Foundational and practical learning in entrepreneurial thinking, opportunity identification and business-model development.
• Customer and market understanding, financial fundamentals, marketing, operations and enterprise management.
• Learning from experienced entrepreneurs, experts, practitioners and peers from diverse backgrounds.
• Practical exercises, enterprise exposure and support to develop and communicate a workable business plan.
• A jointly awarded certificate for participants who meet the applicable attendance and completion requirements.

Duration and participation

The course generally comprises 14 learning days delivered over approximately three months. The detailed class schedule is announced by each implementing partner. Participants are expected to maintain at least 90 percent attendance and fulfil the applicable completion requirements.
