Job Title: Agricultural Consultant
Number of Positions: 1
The Agricultural Consultant is expected to provide technical expertise to support agriculture lending, loan assessment, portfolio monitoring, market linkages, and capacity building of sales and credit staff, contributing to the sustainable growth and quality of the Bank's agriculture portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct market studies to identify agriculture lending opportunities in different parts of Nepal.
- Support the development of products for different types of agriculture lending.
- Prepare policies and guidelines for agriculture lending.
- Develop training manuals for agriculture lending products and services.
- Deliver training to Bank staff on product information, working capital assessment, income and expense analysis, possible risks and mitigation strategies, effective sales techniques, soft skills, and other relevant areas.
- Deliver training to existing and potential customers of the Bank to support market development.
Job Competencies
- Strong knowledge of agriculture, agri-business, crop production, livestock, value chains, market linkages, and agriculture lending practices.
- Ability to conduct market studies, identify lending opportunities, and assess market potential across different regions.
- Capability to develop agriculture lending products, policies, guidelines, and related frameworks.
- Strong training and facilitation skills, including the development of training materials and delivery of training to Bank staff and customers.
- Excellent communication, presentation, relationship-building, and report-writing skills, with willingness to travel to field locations as required.
Eligibility
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Science, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Fisheries/Aquaculture, Agribusiness, or related fields.
- Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience in agricultural development.
