Is there name printed on the card?
NABILCOOLCASH/NABILPREPAID are numbered cards and do not contain cardholder's name on it. The card number and account number indent printed on the card are the identifiers and hence cardholders need to sign on the signature panel at the back of the card immediately upon purchase. Keeping note of the card number and account number printed on the card separately would assist the cardholder at the time of card lost / stolen.
How long is the card valid for usage?
NABILPREPAID is valid for one year in average which at the time of purchase could have 10 -13 months' validity. The card is valid till the last date of the month and year as mentioned in the card
How often can I use the card and can I recharge it?
NABILPREPAID can be used as often as you like till the credit balance is available in your card within its validity. From the security point of view there is a ceiling of cash withdrawal of maximum NPR 100,000 per day. Once the card is used, the credit balance decreases by the transaction amount. Your credit balance can be enhanced by recharging the amount you want. You can visit any branch/counter of Nabil Bank and deposit the amount of your choice to the card account by filling the recharge slip. The recharged amount shall be enhanced to your card instantly and can be used. There will be a recharge fee of Rs. 50 per recharge transaction including first deposit.
For the purpose banks security, a lien of Rs 1,000 is placed in all cards. This lien can be transferred to other card account or refunded if the card is closed.
What else can I do at ATM?
You can enquire the balance available in your card at any of Nabil ATMs Likewise you can get a mini statement containing last 7 transactions of your card. Nabil ATMs support you change the PIN. The facility of fund transfer from one account to other account within Nabil Bank will be available soon. Likewise utility payment such as mobile phone bill payment will be added soon.
Is it difficult to pay through the card?
It's as easy as paying by cash. When a purchase is completed, please submit NABILPREPAID card to the merchant for payment. Merchant processes the transaction through an electronic data capture device called POS which will take about n 15-20 seconds to complete the transaction. The merchant upon getting the approval through the POS will ask you to sign on the sales slip printed by POS. Please check the details of the purchase before affixing your signature on the sales slip. Please collect a copy of the slip and the bill for your reference. Your card account gets debited instantly by the transaction amount which can be seen in your statement.
Do I have to pay extra for using the card?
Normally, you do not have to pay any fee at the merchant locations while making payment through your card. If any merchant charges you extra for honoring your NABILPREPAID, you are strongly advised to retain the original bill and the transaction slip which has extra charges. Upon submitting the bill and transaction slip at Nabil Bank, we will put our best effort to recover such surcharged amount. However, there could be exceptions at some instances such as petrol pump, government hospitals, Indian railway etc which are allowed to surcharge.
There is no charge on cash withdrawal from Nabil ATMs. There will be charge of Rs. 150 per cash withdrawal from other bank's ATMs which will be deducted from the balance of your card. You do not need to pay any fee upfront.
Why and when should I reconcile the card transactions?
You must reconcile your card transactions with the account statement every month in a Nepalese calendar to ascertain the genuineness of the posted transactions. The account statement could be obtained from any branch of the bank on demand. Any dispute on the transactions shown in the statement should be lodged within 7 days failing which the bank shall not be in a position to forward the dispute to Visa for settlement as the disputes resolution are governed by a separate rule of Visa International which is strictly time bound. There will be an investigation charge of Rs. 300 per case for your disputed transaction but the Bank will not levy any charge to you or refund the already levied charge if your dispute is proven genuine.
How do I inform about a lost/stolen card case?
Please inform Nabil Cards Division over the telephone at 4228538 or 4226681 to block the card immediately and stop further use. Cards Division is open 365 days from 7:30 in the morning to 10:30 in the evening. However, you must send a written application also at the earliest which needs to be sent to the branch from where you had bought the card. Please note that you are fully liable for the transactions processed till the time NabilCards is notified of the lost or stolen card.
Since your NABILPREPAID is unnamed card, we require your card number to block the card and therefore suggest you to note your card number separately so that you can retrieve the number even if the card is lost.
NABILPREPAID can not be reissued against a lost/stolen card but a new card needs to be purchased. For the credit balance remained in the lost/stolen card will be Refunded/Transferred to new card.
Shall I get a renewed card against the expired one?
NABILPREPAID can not be renewed upon its expiry. You need to purchase a new card and can transfer the credit balance of your expired card to the new card upon fulfilling the requirement as mentioned in Refund /Transfer section of this brochure.
How can I avoid the ledger fee on my expired card?
Your expired NABILPREPAID card with credit balance less than Rs 10,000 will be subject to monthly ledger fee of Rs 100 after the third month of expiry. You can easily avoid this situation by transferring the balance to your new card or taking the refund by fulfilling the requirement as mentioned in Refund /Transfer section of this brochure.
Can I close the card on my wish?
You can voluntarily close the NABILPREPAID within its validity period or upon expiry without any charge. Upon closure of the card, you can get the refund of the credit balance by fulfilling the requirement as mentioned in Refund /Transfer section of this brochure.
How do I get Refund / Transfer the credit balance of my card?
For the refund or transfer of credit balance to your new card, you must contact the branch / counter of Nabil Bank which initially issued card to you. Other branch / counter shall not be in a position to provide you refund or transfer facility. Upon contacting the branch/ counter, you need to fill up a pre-printed form with the information which you have provided while applying for the card. The branch/ counter upon verifying necessary documents and signature will then either refund in cash/cheque or transfer the balance to other card as per your request.
As mentioned above, the refund/transfer facility is available for the lost/stolen, damaged, expired and closed cards. You must remember that this is available only from the branch/ counter originally issuing the card.
